At Superior Thread, we provide comprehensive benefits to attract the best employees and keep them here. The following benefits are for all eligible employees of STR:

Health Benefits

Medical, Vision, and Dental Coverage

Employee premium plans are available through Kaiser and Anthem. These plans, which can cover medical, vision, and dental, are paid for through paycheck deduction. An added advantage of choosing our Kaiser plan is that Superior provides each employee with a benefit card that will cover the first $5,000 of the deductible. Only the remaining $2,000 of the deductible is left for the employee to be responsible for paying. STR also organizes flexible spending accounts for both medical and dependent uses. These accounts are beneficial, as the portions of income set aside for FSAs are not taxable, which ultimately lowers the amount our employees spend on social security and medicare payments.

Chiropractic Coverage

STR is committed to ensuring our workforce not only has access to standard medical, vision, and dental coverage, but also chiropractic options as well. We believe every employee deserves to feel comfortable on the job, which is why we utilize ergonomic equipment as well as make it easy for our workforce to seek out professional services to help them maintain their alignment.

Concierge Service

STR goes above and beyond by providing our customers with a concierge service for health resources. We are committed to helping each member of our team get the most out of their medical benefits. While most companies simply direct health benefits questions to their HR department, STR uses our concierge service to assist our employees in navigating the complicated world of health insurance, providing thorough and easy-to-understand answers for questions like “How much do benefits cover?” and “How much will I have to pay out of pocket?”

Mental Health Coverage

STR makes it very easy for our employees to access mental health coverage through insurance. Both of our insurance programs, Anthem and Kaiser, have a wide selection of mental health benefits and a direct through-insurance mental health division for employees to take advantage of.

Paid Vacation, Holiday Pay & Sick Days

Paid Vacation

Paid vacation is an accrued annual benefit based on hours worked:

  • 1-5 years: 10 Days
  • 6-10 years: 15 Days
  • 11+ years: 20 Days

Paid Sick Days

Six days or 48 hours of paid sick leave can be used by any employee after their 90th day of employment at Superior.

Holiday Pay

STR provides holiday pay for 7 days each year:

  • New Years Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • The Day After Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Day

Savings & Profit Sharing

401K Matching

  • Plan eligibility kicks in after 6 month of service
  • Jan 1st and July 1st are the plan entry dates
  • STR matches 50% up to 4% of your salary

Education & Training

Tuition Reimbursement

STR provides tuition reimbursement. Any required courses leading to an Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in an area related to STR business are eligible for tuition reimbursement.

Work-Related Reimbursements

Work Boot Allowance

Superior Thread Rolling looks after our employees’ wellbeing. To ensure that everyone on the work floor is properly equipped during their active job roles, we offer an $85 subsidized reimbursement for work boots.

Prescription Safety Glasses

We also provide subsidized reimbursement for one pair of prescription work lenses. Any employee wishing to take advantage of this benefit can simply submit a lens prescription to the appropriate department.
